The hotel had a nice theme that connected to the local mining history, which was interesting. The staff were friendly and accommodating, allowing us to park our bikes securely at the back of the hotel. The room and bathroom were kept very clean, and my son could even walk barefoot without any issues. the toilet had blue LED lights on the lid, which was a convenient feature during the night.
There were a few downsides to our stay. the room had a strong smell coming from the drains, and there was no one available to help us change rooms after 11pm.

The staff at this hotel were incredibly friendly and helpful, going above and beyond to ensure our stay was enjoyable. We were pleasantly surprised to find that our bikes could be securely parked behind a locked fence during the night, giving us peace of mind. The room and bathroom were impeccably clean, perfect for my son who loves to walk barefoot without worry. The toilet with its blue LED lights on the lid was a genius touch, allowing us to navigate the bathroom at night without disturbing each other. The buffet breakfast exceeded our expectations in terms of value for money, with a wide selection of hygienic and fresh options. This budget-friendly hotel in a historic building near the mining museum and workers' district was a great choice for our one-night biking trip.

The size of the bathroom, which was quite small and cramped, making it difficult to move around comfortably.

I loved the charming decor of the hotel, especially in the common areas. The beautiful historical mine building in the quiet garden city is a delightful sight. As a senior woman, I found the hotel to be easily accessible and convenient for me.
I would have appreciated better assistance from the staff. I understand they are young and inexperienced, but for a better vacation for senior people, it would be helpful if they were more attentive and knowledgeable.

The rooms at De Schacht are cozy and comfortable, with everything I needed for a relaxing stay. The TV was a nice touch, perfect for unwinding after a long day of exploring. The private bathroom was clean and well-equipped, and the shower had excellent water pressure. As a laid-back traveler, I enjoyed the simplicity and homely feel of the room.
Personally, I found the hairdryer in the bathroom a bit outdated. But hey, that's just me!

The staff were unbelievably friendly and went above and beyond to assist. The room was massive and the shower was amazing, unlike your typical hotel "drip." The hotel's location was perfect, with restaurants and shops within walking distance, and a takeaway and proper restaurant right next door. The convenience of having a SPAR just a 15-minute walk away was a bonus. The historic mining colony building and its surroundings added to the charm. Our bikes were safely stored behind a locked fence overnight. The room and bathroom were spotless, and my son could walk barefoot without any worries. The toilet with the built-in LED lights was a genius touch. The buffet breakfast exceeded expectations in terms of quality and value for money. Highly recommended for budget-conscious travelers seeking a great place to stay. The hotel bar had a decent selection of beers and was reasonably priced. The staff were always courteous and helpful. Bonus points for free wi-fi, free parking, luggage storage, cozy bar/lounge area, flat-screen TV, electric kettle.

The room was spacious and impeccably clean, perfect for walking around barefoot. I was pleasantly surprised to find all the standard amenities provided, including a tea/coffee making facility and a little fridge with a freezer compartment. the friendly owners went out of their way to ensure I had a pleasant stay, providing excellent customer service.
The Wi-Fi coverage throughout the hotel was quite poor, and only worked near the reception area. the location was a bit far from the city center, requiring reliance on taxis at night, which can be expensive.
